Jarrah, (scientific name: Eucalyptus Marginata), is a hard-wood timber species native to South Western Australia. It is very heavy, even for a hardwood, with an air-dry density of 820kg per cubed meter. In comparison River Banksia has an air-dry density of 560kg per cubic metre. As well as being used in the construction industry, jarrah, also known as Swan River Mahogany, is used to make beautiful quality furniture.
